Day One

CAHIR CASTLE 

Visit this mighty fortress built on a rock in the middle of the River Suir. The scars of battles and sieges of long ago are still visible. This castle remains as one of Ireland’s best-preserved medieval castle and its beautiful setting has been the highlight of many movies.

SWISS COTTAGE

Enjoy a beautiful walk along the tree-lined banks of the River Suir to see the exquisite Swiss Cottage.

You may choose to view the inside of this beautiful property by booking as an optional extra.

THE CRAFT GRANARY 

Enjoy a visit to The Craft Granary in Cahir, a beautifully restored 19th century grainstore. It now acts as a showcase for quality handcrafted items from the South East of Ireland. Enjoy 10% off all items instore when you visit as part of this visitor package.

ROCK OF CASHEL

Your  journey through the stories of the Butlers is just a glimpse of the historic treasures of Tipperary, when you will encounter world renowned heritage like the magnificent Rock of Cashel, overlooking the Golden Vale.  Once the traditional seat of the kings of Munster, the Rock of Cashel is one of the foremost pieces of Celtic art and medieval architecture in Europe, a truly remarkable piece of history and an integral monument in Ireland's Ancient East. 

FETHARD VILLAGE

Take time to stroll through Fethard Village and visit the historical sites. This village is seeped in history and stories. Fethard is also internationally known in the thoroughbred horse racing industry as the home of Coolmore Stud.

Before you leave Fethard a visit to McCarthy’s of Fethard is a must, where they will “wine you, dine you and bury you.” McCarthy’s is a well-established undertakers as well as a fine restaurant and bar. Food served Wednesday to Sunday from 12 noon to 3pm and 6pm to 9pm.
